The Bayer Leverkusen manager is keen to make amends of the defeat against Eintracht Frankfurt last week.
Werkself lost the game against Frankfurt last week despite being 1-0 in the lead. The away side conceded two goals in the second-half to eventually lose the game against a spirited Frankfurt side.
Sami Hyypia, Leverkusen’s joint manager, is extremely disappointed with his side’s performance last week and is confident of a strong comeback against SC Freiburg, who played a 1-1 draw against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/1-FSV-Mainz-05-c38166 last weekend. Leverkusen
were favourites to win their first game against a side that was promoted earlier this season.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 player has hinted that he will make a few changes to the side in the game against Freiburg and has called for calm despite a loss in the opening game. He admitted that the fans had a lot of expectations from
the players and the manner in which the team lost surely would have been painful for the supporters.
“It is possible that it would make sense to fill one or two positions against Freiburg with different players compared to Frankfurt. We have worked on our defeat during the week and spoken clearly about the things which did not
work. We just need to be more relaxed in our minds against Freiburg,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
Hyypia added that Freiburg are a dangerous side and stated that his team cannot afford to make the same mistakes in their next game. The former defender claimed that the team has to improve at all costs if they want to qualify
for the top four at the end of the season.
“Freiburg will be very aggressive here. They will try to disturb us early and we will have to show the same level of passion and commitment as our opponents, and be better in possession,” he concluded.
Bayer Leverkusen will take on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/SC-Freiburg-c40462 in their first league game at home this season. The side will be desperately looking for a good result to kick start their bid for a place in the top four at the end of the season.
