I’m U.S. Permanent Resident. The only document that I was using so far crossing Canadian border was my Green Card and driving license. With new changes in law will I be still able to go to Canada after 1st of July 2008 only with my Green Card and Michigan driving license?

  1. yes the delayed the change date again to 2009 (i think) then you need a passport which cost about 100 bucks

this is only for land/sea travel

  2. Yes, a green card is fine.

You may need a passport starting 1 July 2009, but that is not determined yet.

  3. It's hard to say reading the US State Dept website.  Looks like you already need a passport or passport card.  It sounds like you got lucky.  I wouldn't push my luck.  Read the website below and see if you hold the qualifying documentation.  Your green card is not enough to get you in the country, it looks like.  Apply for your passport if you do not already have one, which I would think you would.
