  1. I had the same concerns..and the more I worried about what I weighed when I got pregnant, the more I gained.  If you can lose some weight..go for it.  But you are certainly not alone with what you weigh..and I got pregnant weighing more.

I was also very worried about gaining weight. I was sick my first trimester and actually lost weight. Im 5 months pregnant and have only gained a small amount.  When you're bigger your doctor will want you to gain weight slower...and 15 pounds is acceptable.

Talk to your doctor about your concerns.  But rest assured there are plenty of people at your weight that get pregnant.

  2. 20-30 lbs pounds added while prego.

  3. I am bigger then you and I am having #2 next week.  I heard it was hard for obese women to get pregnant, but we tried only 4 times and it worked!  I was told to go for walks, but for some reason walking in general made it hard for me to breath really bad!  I would say the risk is you'll get a big baby, but I was roughly 30lbs lighter then you when I had my first and I still had a 10 1/2 lb baby.  And this one is approx 9lbs 7 ozs as of yesterday.  I was very sick and lost 30lbs but gained it back (cause I had to) and only have gained 18lbs from that point.  Good luck!!

  4. That isn't so big is it? I'm from the UK, I don't have much of a clue about pounds, anyway, if you want a baby, there is nothing to stop you starting to try now, and just try and eat healthily and then if you lose some weight then cool, but you might conceive anyway.

As long as you eat a varied diet, you can still try for a baby.

    Good luck!

  5. even "obese" people like you, as you say, can get pregnant.  you should start some type of exercise program, as I can only assume the extra weight may hurt your back and knees.  Good luck.

  6. It's up to you.

If you do lose weight, it'll be easier for you to carry (the strain on your back will be less), and easier to give birth (smaller fetus).

  7. No, I weigh a lot more than you and I am 6 months pregnant. I was 50 kilos lighter when I conceived our first child than I was with this one and as far as I know it hasn't affected it except for embarassing 'watch your weight' comments from the doctor and 'maternal size' making it harder to see baby in scans.\

The amount of weight you put on will depend on how you eat during the pregnancy, I put on 40kg (88 pounds) when pregnant with my daughter, I am first to admit I went waaaayyyy overboard. This time so far I havent put on any weight.

It isn't actually easier to give birth to a smaller fetus, a good sized baby makes pushing it out easier actually. I put on 40kg and my daughter weighed 4kg (normal!)
