I,m in a egg drop contest?

how can i keep this egg from breaking, the egg will be in a Mc Donalds Big Mac box, what can i put in there to keep the egg from breaking?????

Scrunched up newspaper or Sponge - absorbs impact

Bunch of straws - the air lessens the impact

Parachute wont work unless you get the material and aerodynamics right - tried it once on a team bonding exercise!

When I did this in my jr high class, I filled the box with kleenex, and then surrounded the outside with duct tape.  It worked

Have you thought of encasing the egg in jello?  Just mix it up, fill both the halves of the box and let it harden over night.  Then, insert the egg, shut the box, tape it closed, then test it out.

Here's the key - parachute.  No amount of padding will help as much as adding some kind of parachute-like devise to slow its fall.  My college design class did this, and the only one who had no eggs broken used a parachute (made of paper or plastic or whatever they were allowed to use).

ummm 2 slighlty blown ballons- tape one inside on the top and  one on the inside bottom- and put the egg in between them and close the box then drop it :) i just thought of it - hope it works
