I"m not satisfied with picture from the hdtv i purshased recently and my hd converter box from comcast doesnt have a hdmi input so all i have is those cheap componet cables they supply they say it does have a dvi input and i could get a dvi converter piece with a hdmi input in the back would that serve as a hdmi input?And if i bought a better brand of conponet cables like monster brand would that give me a better picture

  1. The key question is: do you really have HD programming?

    Component video should look as good as DVI-to-HDMI.

    The box may be HD, but without HD programming it ain't any good.

The component cables should be fine.  And don't buy a "better brand".  Unless the cables are more than 10  ft, there will be very little difference.  The best thing you can do is contact Comcast and complain about the picture, and as the above responder said, are you really getting HD service?  Do the pictures fill your widescreen TV?

    If you are receiving HD service from Comcast, and the picture is not good, it is the fault of Comcast.  Keep after them.
