The weekend of May 16th should have been the week to get our Stimulus check. "NOTHING." As the six weeks went by, finally we were able to confirm with the IRS that indeed our check was sent to our mailing address. Today we got a 5 page document stating out Rebate check was also cashed. And indeed the last page was a picture of the check, endorsed at a liquor store 13 miles away, and then deposited. How could this have happened? Has anybody else encountered this? Does anybody know how much longer from here on out it might take? The worse part is the week it was cashed we were dirt poor. We are law abidding, tax paying, family oriented, humble people. It just isn't fair. I guess things happen for a reason. I've recently requested my free annual credit report. Wish me luck.

  1. Contact the IRS again and see when you should receive it, hopefully you should receive it soon, and that you had it direct deposited

  2. If the IRS told you that they were replacing the check, call and ask them. ( It is much safer to have checks directly deposited into your bank account, but thieves are thieves, so nothing is

perfectly safe.)   Good luck, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart.  (Hopefully they won't have to recover the check to prosecute

    the thief first.)

  3. its a good idea to switch to a p.o. box or to a box with the hole on the side of the door that way  the only way to retrieve the mail is from the inside. I'm not trying to scare you but if you know now that the lovely neighbors do that then protect yourself.one thing with the economy so bad things like that still p**s u off but they are too be expected because people are getting so desperate.  i of course have no mercy; file a police report request penalty on the person who did it. they are absolutely dumb that they would endorse it and then deposit it into their bank account, or atleast sign it at a liquor store. all that can be traced you know thru the liquor store cameras and the writing on the check. good luck to you
