I-130 Application?

Once we apply for I-130 application, USCIS will provide us with the receipt number. How long after the receipt number we will be able to get the answer from USCIS whether it's approved or denied?

Once you have your receipt number you can start checking the case status online. You get approved anywhere from 3 months to a year. Then they will send you a letter with your I-485 initial interview date & time. The whole process took me 3 1/2 months from when I applied to getting my green card in my hand.

It can take up to 45 days for a decision.  (It can also take up to a month to get your receipt number.)

You can check the status of your case on the USCIS site by using your receipt number.

It is currently taking anywhere from 6-10 months for approval. In some cases a year. Go to the USCIS website and check processing times according to the Service Center your application is at.
