  1. I do not know where some of these people but have gotten their answers from.

Having a sponsor (I-864) is the basis of getting an approved adjustment of status (I-485).

You will need a sponsor before you can file Form I-485, filing without a a completed I-864, is automatic grounds for a denial of your adjustment of status.

Obviously the person who petitioned you will have to file an I-864 to sponsor you regardless of if that person meets the financial requirements to do so. If that person's income alone does not meet those requirements, then a co-sponsor will be required. A co-sponsor can be anyone who is aged 18+ and who is either a U.S. citizen or permanent resident . So ask around for friends and family, to see if they will co-sponsor. When you find one, they will also need to complete Form I-864 and then you will send all of the AOS forms together.

  2. obviously yes you can file the I-485 without attaching the form I-864 which is the sponsorship, read the instructions of both forms carefully and you'll see the answer for your question there, which the answer is your case will be denied if you do not submit a form I-864 and do not meet the requirements, (125% above the poverty line).

try to find one, if your petitioner doesn't meet the requirements or isn't working, has to send the form anyway, but you may send another form from a "joint" sponsor, joint sponsors don't have to be relatives, it could be just a friend so good luck to ya.

  3. I-485 is YOUR application that you file based on your I-130 approval.
