  1. take ice cubes and pulverize them   and some milk  this sort of looks like snow

  2. Many different forms of snow.   Sometimes its little clear ice pellets like the silicone balls found in drying packets.    Sometimes its little white pellets like above but a little larger.    When its very cold and snow just freezes out of clear air its kinda like a very small sliver of glass that reflects light very well.    A little warmer and the flakes are small.    When its close to freezing the flakes can get large as quarters almost.    My snowmen look pretty bad.   Usually have grass, leaves, sticks and gravel mixed in with the snow because I only make them during the first few storms.    After winter has really begun I get tired of the snow, then sick of it by spring.

  3. its really cool.

  4. Snow flakes come in lots of sizes and shapes. You can get rods and pellets and also huge flakes the size of a large coin.

I'm from Florida but not I live in Iowa, so I didn't know what snow was like for a long time.

One thing I would compare it to is a very loose sand when it first falls, and then like rocks when it's harder and older and the flakes have compressed into ice.

When snow is powdery and it first falls, it actually makes that same "swishing" noise that loose sand makes when you walk on it. In addition, the snow can be heavy like sand and it gives you that thigh-burn if you walk in both of them for long periods of time.

You might consider taking a vacation to a snowy area one day.. just to experience it! I want to see a real glacier one day... I don't like the snow, but I just want to see one. And the aurora. :)
