  1. It has to suck being an active person then confined to doing nothing. But a dislocated shoulder doesn't mean that you can't go outside at all. You can still walk a trail, or the neighborhood. Try sitting in the shade and reading, or invite your friends over and go on a picinic. There are still lots of outdoor activities you can do, so calm down. I play the clarinet and when I couldn't play for a few weeks, it just sucked, nothing you can do for that.....Hope this helps. Answer questions instead of asking....

  2. Read a book or play computer games. I recommend the Sims 2.

  3. What about writing? or you could compose your own music to play on the violin? Just get a recorder and hum what you want to compose... that's what I do, then when you are feeling better you can play it back and create a song.

Or... catch up on a TV series that you like. You can rent anything now. I have been watching all the Lost series when stuck inside:P

Invite some friends over and have a "girl night" watch some movies etc.

Sit outside with a tea and read a good book. It will take your mind off of the fact that you cant go out and do much.

I hate sitting inside all day too when sick or injured... haha.. these are what I do to make myself feel better though! good luck! Hope your shoulder gets better soon!

  4. computergames

  5. Try this, it always works when I can't sleep and it will enrich your life. Make a connection between yourself and someone long ago. Use the internet to bridge the gap between their time and yours and make its discovery a journey.

Here's an example. There's the cemetery in front of my building. When I first moved in 5 years ago, I heard something about a very wealthy man being buried there, but that was all. In any case, I did some research and it turned out that this rich man was none other than John Jacob Astor IV. At the time of his death, he was the richest man in the United States (decendant of J.J. Astor himself). He died in the Titanic and they shipped his body to this cemetery. I'm a huge fan of our history and I found it very intriguing that the remains of someone who died in the Titanic tragedy sit just a few yards from me every night. In short, here's my answer. THE INTERNET, start with wikipedia and don't look back ; )

  6. try instead of sitting in a chair all day doing simple exercise . like rotating your arm slowley in different directions and using some deep heat cream rubbed into the shoulder , but use sparingly so it doesen,t burn but try finding a good puzzle book to keep your mind off the pain

  7. Go to the doctor!!! or just pop your shoulder back in place...that's what I do. But for things to do, play games, like cards or chess. Go on the computer or read a book.

  8. Go outside and read a book!

Or just go for a nice hike in the woods!

  9. read a book about how it's all going to be okay.

  10. Do your legs and other arms still work?  You could do a lot.  You could tour some museums you haven't been to lately, take nature hikes, practice cooking, get some sympathy kisses, catch up on old friendships with some visiting or letter writing, take in some new music for some new inspirations, sing.

  11. hold lots of traditional English tea parties. Tea, cakes and chatter for all your friends.

  12. Go to a chiropracter and have it fixed! There's nothing you can do to fix it on your own.
