I came over here to Brussels from Ireland 10 days ago and today I searched in the bag where I thought it was and no sign! I searched the apartment I'm staying in and no luck! I'm supposed to be flying back this Sunday with Ryanair, what should I do!?

  1. think about where you last saw it or go to the police

  2. Go to the irish embassy

  3. enjoy yourself love and take better care of it in future

  4. Yes - go to the Irish Embassy and they should be able to provide suitable documentation, or a replacement passport.

    It's at Rue Wiertz 5 Wiertzstraat, Brussels 1050 or telephone them on +32 2 235 6676

  5. Hope you found it back in the mean time? If not, try to call the airport also? A few years ago I lost my passport at the airport and luckily I noticed it before boarding so I could still walk back to passport control.  If you go to the police, they will also probably know if your passport has been found at the airport.

Normally your passport can't just disappear if you have always left it in your bag and you trust the people living with you in the apartment you're staying in.

  6. First of all contact the local Police who can issue you with a Police report as the embassy will need this as proof so you can get a temporary passport.

If from the ROI with a Irish passport go to the Irish embassy:

    Irish Embassy

    Rue Wiertz 50 Wiertzstraat

    Bruxelles 1050

    Brussels

    Phone: +32 2 235 6676

If from Northern Ireland and have a UK passport go to the British embassy:

    British Embassy

    Rue d'Arlon 85

    Aarlenstraat

    1040 Brussels

    Telephone: +32 2 287 6211

Either case they will make sure your ok to travel with temporary documents and give you info on how to cancel your lost passport when back in Ireland or they will arrange to do so there.

  7. Go to the Irish embassy, they will issue you with a temporary set of documents to travel.

  8. Go immediately to the nearest police station, tell them what has happened (to prevent trouble in case some other official asks to see it)  and ask them to point you to the Irish Consulate or Embassy, unless you already know their address (check the phone book).

The consuate will issue you with an emergency passport to get you home, but it will take time because of the checks they have to make and it will cost you.

Speed is also very important because they'll have to cancel your lost passport to prevent indentity fraud. You should be aware that this is still a risk which could cost you a lot of money and trouble if your passport has fallen into the hands of Bad Guys.

You have no time to waste. The diplomatic offices are only open for "office hours" so you must get it all done by tomorrow.

Ryanair will not let you board without approved identification (passport or official ID card). This is not something that you can negotiate with them about; and you probably won't get a refund on your ticket.

  9. Go to the British (Irish) Embassy....But before you do have another really good look around for it, sometimes we can't see something that is right under our nose!!

  10. Go to the police and the Irish Consulate or Embassy.  They will take care of you.

For many countries, if you have the number from the passport, they can replace it more quicky.  Do you have the number or a xerocopy?  It makes life much easier, but isn't required.

  11. stay in brussels :)

    haha

i lost my passport once in ireland

    that was scary.

shame i couldnt help you, sorry.

  12. call ryanair, from there you WILL ave to pay a fee or 4 a passport

  13. Go to the Irish Embassy or Consulate they are duty bound to provide you with documentation to get you home.

You never left it in your toilet bag by any chance have you looked under the bed or in the bed or in a folded paper.

Good luck and take better care of your passport in future. Your a real old Muller!
