OK, i have dreamed of joining the airforce rotc for a long time. im going to turn 17 soon and i think i need to get some information and ask questions( from a real person). so i want to visit the af recruiting center in duluth mn and im scared that they will make me sign up right away and that they will be mean. i know this is stupid but i just can't get the courage to go to the center.

Can some one tell me if they are nice or are they going to push me to sign up right away?

  1. Why don't you take someone with you? You could ask that ensure that you don't sign anything.

  2. They are absolutely fabulous! I get lots of phone calls from all branches of the military, because my brother in law is in the marine, and give my name to EVERYONE, and I'd have to say the air force is the nicest! You should go to the center with a parent or friend, to take the stress off! Your'e doing a great thing!

  3. the last guy to answer is a little lost. not all go to the middle east. if you go to rotc you my never see the middle eats and it also depends on your job you pick. the airforce treats its people the best. and boot camp is the shortest. don't be scared they wont make you join.

  4. Recruiters can't tell you about AFROTC.

You need to contact the AFROTC Detachment at the University you plan on attending.

Recruiters have nothing to do with ROTC.

  5. dude that's stupid recruiters arent there to deceive u okay they just want to do they're job

the airforce is so full that they're quotas dont even matter

  6. You need to find a college that offers the Air Force ROTC program then sign up for the program at that school.  Here are the ones in Duluth that have an Air Force ROTC Program:

    COLLEGE OF SAINT SCHOLASTICA

    LAKE SUPERIOR COLLEGE

    UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA, DULUTH

  7. they cant make you do anything... they can peer pressure you a little but ultimately its your choice, and if your that much of a push over and something like this scares you than maybe the military isnt for you.  btw the AirForce is the least "mean" of all

  8. A recruiter can't help you with AF-ROTC.

  9. air force only has 6 weeks of basic training and not that bad. of course recruiters will try to get you enlisted it is their job.

  10. ROTC has nothing to do with the actual military just like Boy Scouts & Girl Scouts has nothing to do with the actual military... If you want to find out about AFROTC then you need to contact an ROTC office... not an Air Force Recruiter...

  11. You have nothing to worry about, you dont have to commit to anything untill you pass you AFOQT and PT test and still go to field training. that wont be till after 2 years where you will decided weather or not its for you. Also the program does offer scholarships and even full rides but with the full ride you will have to commit. The regular application being a govt. document is long to fill out, but it doesnt commit you to the AF. Trust me, its great experience and the best thing i have done with my life. If you want to know more, send me a pm, and i can elaborate.

  12. You can't sign up right away. They will be nice and they will show you the steps you need to take to sign up.

  13. If you want to join ROTC then you should probably contact the an ROTC unit a college. The regular recruiters are there to get enlisted people not so much officers. But it wouldn't hurt to go talk to them.
