Today I am 39 weeks pregnant, I went to my OB for my weekly visit and I was told I probably need a C-section!!! The reason being is that I was told my pelvis is narrow. She said I have a chance at having him vaginaly but I might not dialate all the way as I may stop dialatin and that will call for a C-section! I have been dialated at a finger tip for a little over three weeks now and my babys weight was estimated 7lbs 14 oz on a 4d ultrasound. I was wooundering if this has happend to anyone and the baby was delivered vaginaly, also he has NOT DROPPED YET. I still have until the 27th whitch is my due date.

Also how would this have been delt with befor c-section times this is my first baby any info is much appreciated thanks to you all!!!

  1. I didn't have exactly the same problem, but my doctor told me that my babies head was too big and that he had too much fluid in there, so he set me up to be induced. Once my water broke (they actually had to break it for me to speed things up) I was not dilating at all. They gave me a time limit and said if there wasn't a baby out by then that they were taking him out by C-Section. Then about 2 hours before he was born I started dilating and the doctor barely made it to the hospital in time to deliver my son! Everyone is different, but I believe that once a baby is ready to come out that he or she will find a way out! My son also was not dropped and was facing the back instead of the front, so they had to manually turn him around during pushing labor. I know this is a long story lol but they do not do c-sections until they know for sure it is the only way that your baby is getting out of there! They can always give you pitocin after your water breaks to speed the contractions up. I'm sure that your doctor knows what he is doing and will make sure that you and your baby are just fine.. even if it come down to the c-section. But keep your hopes high.. and congratulations on your little baby!

  2. Just give it time the first one is always tricky i had to be induced because my water wouldn't break

  3. hi there, i have had two healthy baby boys by emergency c-section due to the same problem as you and also having a terrible shaped uterus...if you have a birthing plan let ur midwife know that you would or wouldn't like to try for a vaginal birth, amazingly it does work sometimes... i got to 2Cm's dilated with my first boy and he came out a 7lb 6oz and a 23hr labour before they gave me c-section.... my 2nd boy i tried again with a natural birth and got to 7cm dilated but i decided to have a cut-off of 10hrs and then had to have another c-section for a 7lb 12 and a 1/2ozer.. if you do have a c-section just don't overdo it when you get out of hospital and home. it will not do you any good!!!!  as for the past, you would have probably died giving birth...  i know that sounds grim but that is how it was. GOOD LUCK
