  1. I've been on hundreds of planes.  I don't know anyone who's ever been injurrd in a plane.  I know many people who have been injured in cars, including myself.  You're safer in a plane than a car.  I suggest walking to the airport!

  2. Nothing to be scared of, you have more of a chance  that you are in a car accedent, flying is the safest way to travel

  3. When you are boarding, just consistently put one foot in front of the other and don't stop.  Keep in mind that you are safer on a plane than in a car.

  4. seriously, don't worry about it too much... i was so scared the first time i got on a plane cuz i was so worried it was going to crash but i actually loved it... it's not that bad, trust me.. this is coming from a person who is afraid of pretty much everything.. if u need to take some sleeping pills or motion sickness pills or something like that

  5. my first time on a pane i was 5 years old i didn't know anything so i wasn't that scared but as soon as the airplane goes up,to the sky,im so SCARED........but after it was ok it feels regular like ur in a car,but better service,FOOD,COMFORT,TV!!!!

  6. make sure to bring gum. there are 2 reasons.

    1) your ears will pop and it hurts and 2) it helped relieve stress

Just keep it out of your head. When you are at the airport, don't be thinking omg, omg, omg, omfg! just think about another thing or place, like how much fun it will be wherever you are going.

But the number one thing, is don't think about crashing. You have a better chance of getting into a car crash, fire, collapsed building all together that being in a plane crash.

    Hope I helped! =]

    Good Luck!

  7. i am not comfortable with flying but i have to for sports. bring some gum to chew, say a prayer, and have a really good book so that you will not be easily distracted

  8. I'm terrified of flying so I'm thinking about Tylenol PM-ing it so I can relax.

Honestly once you're in the air you'll be fine. Take off is always uncomfortable to most, but after that its smooth sailing (unless there's turbulence which can be scary too).

  9. the first time i got on a plane, i was scared too. but now i've never seen a plane i didn't want to be on! one thing i do is chew gum while you are taking off so your ears don't pop. that always helps. =]

  10. Dont' be afraid.  Think of these two things.. if you believe in a higher power then you no doubt believe that you don't go until it is your time, so no matter what scarey noises or whatever happen on the plane, you are completely safe unless it is actually your time, in which case you could be home in your bed and it would be curtains.  If you don't believe in a higher power, next best thought to go to is that no amount of being afraid is going to make any impact.  In fact, being calm will help you most in any scarey circumstance.  Finally, look at it like an adventure.  Use the adrenaline rush as a positive exciting thing, not fear base.

  11. its okay its okay. i was like that the first time i got on a plane. i was absolutely terrrified, but if your like me, once it gets going its kind of boring / relaxing........now ive been on about 11 plane trips and ive never crashed or anything. there very safe so i wouldnt worry. but make sure u chew gum because when your going up or down, your ears hurt a little..... but everytime u swalloe or yawn, it gets better. oh and also, make sure to use the washroom before getting on the plane. theres nothing worse than needing to go to the ashroom right as they turn off the washroom sign for desending.  hahahhaa. anyways have a nice flight and vacation. god bless. <3

P.S. try to get the window seat, its alot better hahaha. its so pretty from above! and also, magazines will help pass the time..

  12. have you been a plane before?

i was scared my first time.. i always thought we were gonna crash every time the plane did the tinyest shake but i've learned that plane crashes aren't very likely..

just try not to think about it.. it's also easier if your on a plane with those little tv's on the back of the seats.. watching teevee helps take your mind off it.. and before you know it you'll be on a great vacation [=

think about how fun it's going to be when you get there.. and if your really scared don't sit at the window seat .. looking down might be a little scary.

  13. ok its scary at first but take deep slow breaths and close you eyes. and after it takes off slowly open then and veiw you surroundings. try to take your mind off the fact that you thousends of miles up and imagine your on a train or something. eventually the nerviousness will subside

  14. Put yourself to sleep. Traveling in a plane is actually safer than a car in most instances. Bring your iPod and some stuff to keep you busy.

For sleeping, try Benadryl or Nyquil.

  15. Time to grow up.

  16. There really is nothing to fear.   ...Of course, people fear things that are unfamiliar or new.

Flying is much like sitting in a car or bus while someone else is driving.  For the most part, you should not feel any sense of movement.

There is seldom any turbulence to make the flight feel "bumpy" ...and when there is turbulence it isn't that bad.   To me turbulence feels like going over an old road or something.

Because you will be changing altitudes, your ears will feel odd and "pop" (much like when you yawn).   To help with this, you can either yawn or chew gum to make your ears "pop".

    You will be fine!

  17. I am very afraid. My parents told me to stay up all night, then sleep on the plane, and it worked pretty good. If you still can't fall asleep on the plane, I would bring entertainment to keep you busy. (iPod, Portable DVD player, magazine, book, laptop, cell phone with games and/or music, etc.) Good luck. Also, think about the fact we don't hear too much about airlines crashing, just personal jets and planes. Good Luck, I hope I've helped.

  18. i found the best way to face a problem is to face it head on. Cars crash everyday planes dont in fact a plane could land itself on autopilot just sit back and relax there are very high security at airports and is no need to be afraid of anything happening i travel on a plane 6 to 10 times a year its no big deal just bring an ipod

  19. Okay I love flying once I get up there but I always freak out the night before. If it's anxiety, bring your iPod, and kinda zone out, like just listen to your iPod, and not pay any attention to anything else. If you're worried about getting "air sick" get some Cloud Nine pills.

  20. seriously when your on the plane you have no idea your that high. im serious its so quiet and peacful. just make sure to chew A LOT of gum okay? cuz theres a good chance your ears will pop. but seriously therres nothing to be worried about. heres a few statistics  that hopefully will help you out

over 50 million planes land successfully every day

the chances of dying on a plane are 1/1000000000000

statistics prove theres more chance of dying on the way to the airport than on a plane.

plus youll be more occupied with the cramped seating then your fear

    have fun XD

  21. flying is nothing! i flew for the first time last year and it wasn't even 5% as bad as i was expecting!

my boyfriends mum is terrified of flying and finds that taking (good brand) traveling aid tablets a few hours before the flight help so much! (just read the box and time it so your on / nearly on the plane before they kick-in!)

hope i helped a bit! good luck! x

  22. Its fine, I love flying, I fly a ton, about 1 every other month with my dad.

Just listen to music or try sleeping for the take off and landing and what not but the view from a window seat is amazing.

  23. i have the same problem. i had to go on a plane this summer to. i just about paniced! its natural to feel scared at this time but once your flying youll be just fine! if you need to, hold someones hand. talk to someone about your fear. an just remember, the chance of crashing is one in a million. have fun!

  24. It sounds to me that your fear is based upon ignorance.  I suspect you have never flown before.  Right?  You are afraid because you don't know what to expect. No need to worry.

Flying is not as dangerous as you think it is.  Flying is the safest way to travel. Once you get in the plane it seems quite similar to riding in a car.  You don't feel how fast you are actually going.

I have flown many times and I am here to tell you about it.

    Have fun on your holiday.

  25. I was scared my first time too but once you get into the air it is so cool the cars look like little toys or if you don't like looking out close the window.  I promise it is really not that bad

  26. If you are traveling with someone else, great.. the two of you can chat. My sister took her first flight ever just this summer. Florida to France. She talked to her friend until they passed out. She didn't even think about it. She was pretty nervous too. She said had imagined it would be more stressful than it was. My first flight, I slept. When you sleep, you won't really notice much going on. Best to take and iPod or something to drown out cabin noise and a sleep mask. You'll be fine and have fun on your holiday!

  27. Me, too, but try not to panic.  Take along lots of things to distract you, like boooks and music and stuff.  My panic arises from not being in control, plus claustrophobia, but I recently flew all over USA, so it will diminish with time.

  28. first of all you said you are looking forward to your holiday. that is positive.  I too have been nervous of flying.  I suggest a reading a book, getting some rest, and talking to your family if you are having difficulty,.

think about your holiday and how much fun you are going to have.

    it will be okay.

and then you can feel proud that you made it!!

    good luck

  29. I was so scared when I took my first flight I thought I would die. Now I love to fly. It's just mind over matter. The best way to conquer your fear is to face it head on with confidence and courage. I predict you will find it an enjoyable experience once you get settled in on the plane. Just get the earphones from the flight attendant and listen to music, you will be fine.

    PS... the view is AWESOME!

  30. Take-off can be a bit overwhelming but then they serve the meal and there is so much to do on there too. After the meal they turn the heat up in the cabin and it's hard not to fall asleep. You'll wake up and be in your destination. You'll be fine. Lots of people are nervous fliers, just take a few deep breaths before you board and keep it together. If you freak out it might make others freak out too and nobody wants that. Good luck.

  31. stay calm, try not to think about it, and take deep and slow breaths in and out. take a mag, watch the movie, and keep ur mind occupied. just remember a plane lifts off and lands every minute!!! it's safe, thousands of planes land every day. dont worry! have a nice holiday - remember deep breaths, stay calm, keep ur self occupied, chat etc.. and look foward to ur destination! youll be fine!
