I Run a 23.8 200m and I run a 54.8 400m, I have the speed and I know i can improve that, but I want to improve my endurance. My coach said I should run cross-country but I am afraid that it will mess up my stride and turn me into a distance runner. What Should I Do?

  1. you probably wont be that good at it but it would always be good exercise

    so go for it

  2. u could always just go out for track if ur school has a track team, or other sports that involve a lot of sprinting...

  3. Your coach is dead on.  Your 400m is too slow(in relation to the 200), sounds like you need more endurance

You might find out that with some endurance and your speed you could be a great 800m runner...

  4. if you want to

  5. these are obviously good times and yes i think you should do cross country i am also a sprinter and i got into cross country at cross country i was regional champion i could not believe it

according to your 400m you kinda are a long distance runner i believe you could do about a 9 min 1.5 mile time . what age are you? about 23?
