I'am thinking about applying for a scholarship to Japan though AFS?Does anyone have any advice?

This is the last year of high school for me~~So i was thinking about applying now for a scholarship to Japan at the end of the year.. Does anyone have any advice ??

or success with getting a scholarship?!It does seem really difficult to get..but might aswell try ~~ ^^"

  1. Well AFS does have the 2 full tuition scholarships for Japan they are competitive! But you should still try for the scholarships. They have many other scholarships that give like about $1000 each so just apply for a lot LoLz. I am going to Japan in March 2009 with AFS so I hope to see you there! Bai, good luck!


  2. I say yes, begin your application now!

    But since the scholarships are competitive, if you don't get one, then find another way to go to Japan. You could go as an au-pair where you babysit for a family's kids and in return you get room, board and a bit of money. It's a good way to learn and/improve your Japanese.

    The other way is to look for programs where you can do a gap year in Japan. Google "gap year Japan" and you'll find all kinds of programs where you can teach or tutor English (or do some other type of job, like being someone's assistant). SO you get to stay for a year and you even get paid something!
