  1. If everyone in the world had one billion dollars except for one person who only had ten million dollars, that person would be considerd to be in poverty. The Law of Relativity states if you consider some weatlhy you cannot avoid considering others as poor.

My explanation for poverty is, we use the word poverty to label  the poorest people in our society. It makes no difference how much money or resources one commands the ones with the least will always be considerd to be in poverty.

  2. There are no individual or structural explanations for poverty. A lot of people like to live that way because they have less responsibilities.. A way of paying less and doing less. I would have to say that 50 percent of poverty comes from laziness.

  3. lack of dicipline

  4. world is a balance state. where there is rich there will be poor.

due to greediness/ jealousy/etc. some people do an extra mile about something to satisfy the curiosity of pleasure feeling. result is over of something, while others will be left with less.

The answer to all of this imbalance in the world is SHARING. if you have something that is that you not really need simply share it. everyone around you will feel happy the world would be a pleasant place. But unfortunately people aren't like that.

  5. I'm just guessing here...

but individual explanations could be the individual is depressed (ie: cant get up in the morning to go to work so he/she doesn't get money and becomes poor), the individual is hooked on drugs and cannot function properly and wastes all his/her money on drugs and does not have a home, the individual is lazy, etc

structural explanations could be some people are born into families that are poor or grow up in poor neighborhoods and do not have any chances to get out of the poverty he/she was born into
