I am 17 and im thinking about applying to a Nursing assistance program at a nerby technical school while i am in High School.

I plan on getting my Nursing A.S. Degree at Community College...

So i think you're suppose to go to Nursing School for 4 years and then after you become a Registered Nurse?

Im gona try to get a job in Nursing assistance ( i need money to pay for tuition; so yeah-- sounds like a good idea to do so)

Attend community college for my A.S. in Nursing ( i think for 1-2 years?)

Go for my BSN at a nearby Acredited Nursing school for about 4 years

and go into my career field!

am i on the right track? :D

  1. Your plan to work as a nursing assistant in order to save money for going to college is a good one, although there is college financial aid available, some of it especially for nursing majors.

The A.S. degree in Nursing is a two-year program. Upon successful completion of this program, you will be eligible to sit for the state examination to become a registered nurse. Then, you can work for a while if you wish before enrolling for further studies.

The B.S. degree in Nursing is a four-year program - two years in addition to the A.S. degree.

My suggestion is that you make an appointment with someone in admissions at your community college to talk over your college plans. Be sure to take a copy of your high school grades and test scores with you.

I wish you the best of luck!
