I'd like to buy a used car, which of these is better?

Question

I know nothing about cars. I want either a Hyundai Tiburon '00 or '03 or I want a Ford Focus '04. Which one is better? What makes it better? Which is easier to fix if it breaks and how hard is it to get the parts?

Hyundai has come a very long way in the past couple of years from a quality standpoint.  I'd stay away from the 2000.  The 2003 was made while they were devoting a great deal of effort to improving reliability.  I've got a 2005 Sonata that's run pretty well.  Check the remaining warranty, if any.  Once they made the reliability improvements Hyundai started putting their warranty where their mouth was, and the reviews back it up.

Focus! they're great cars and its newer . but which has fewer miles on it? also focuses have great gas mileage which is very great these days.

You have to decide what makes it better to you. My first car I bought just because it was cheap and got me around place to place. My second car I got because I like the model-it was top of the line everything-but it was horrible on parts and everything was falling apart. I just bought my 3rd car(I'm only 21!) but I choose it because it's a chevy, which means fairly cheap to work on if something does happen, and it's very very good on gas. If you go with the main makers ie, ford, chevy, dodge, there pretty reasonable if you have to have something fixed or replaced. If you go with an imported car it usually cost more, since the parts aren't here. The Focus is really good on gas to and seeing the price of gas lately...ya, i'd go with it!

i have an 07 focus - not the same year but i really like it. it's a good little car :) i'd reccomend getting the focus.

stick with Honda's and Toyota's for the best return on investment.
