I'd like to buy my 11 year old a metal detector.

Question

I don't want to break the bank, yet I'd like to buy a machine of quality. She'd mostly be looking for things on the beach. Any ideas or experience?

I like the Prizm series made by White's. They're not complicated and are pretty much a turn on and go detectors. The series models are Prizm II, Prizm III, Prizm IV and Prizm V. Also, White's is the top name in metal detectors, and I have used their detectors since the 1970's.

You can find many of their detectors for sale used. Like exercise equipment, people are too lazy to use their detectors and end up selling them.
