Rent depends on where and the size of the place - if you share it will be cheaper - without knowong what you are looking for it is difficult to say - but there are student places and it shouldn't be hard to find somewhere reasonable.

The weather is great at the moment - hotter than the UK - where I am from, but gets vwery cold in the winter - be prepared!

In general Germany are very nice - just remember they are direct, so if they say something that hurts you - it doesn't mean they meant to do that!
