I'd like to got to Italy to take surfing lessons. when should i go, and where?

i prefer the northern part of Italy, somewhere close to Milan or Florence

  5. I don't know how to break this to you, but there is no surf there. There is once in a while, surf on Corsica and Sardinia, but I read a really great story about how the handful of surfers on those islands are all networked, and all call each other by phone when there are waves anywhere around the islands.

    The presence of those islands block out any significant swell from hitting the east coast of Italy. The west coast is as surfless as the US Great Lakes, the Adriatic Sea has some beautiful resort towns, but no surf spots. Check out southern Italy.  http://www.surfline.com/travel/travel_ba...

    Have you though about kite surfing or (perish the thought) windsurfing?
