I'd like to hold a talent show in my local area but not sure how to start?

I'd like the talent show to consist of all interested school age kids. A talent show that will allow kids to show or express there talent in whatever they love, music, dance, comedy, poetry or just whatever, we are all different.I'd like there to be prizes for the 1st,2nd, and 3rd place winners.Maybe held in a community building that wont cost to must.Maybe ask of a small fee to enter.Organize a few practices, pick a few judges, and have one nice talent show at the end. I live in a small town where there are alot of kids doing alot of nothing. I just want to give them something to do.... Where do I start? Any ideas?
