Question:

I'd like to know how to be in the audience for the WSOP to watch, or if that is even possible?

I am contemplating making the 4 hour drive to go and watch the WSOP, but I was wondering if there is any way of getting seats, or would i merely be sitting outside the casino looking for whispers of how players are doing? I know by watching past events that the tables seem to be scrunched together, but at least maybe there is a live camera?

  1. I haven't gone up to the WSOP since it was moved, but I was at Binion's a couple times when it was going on in years past. The smaller tournaments and early main event rounds were sometimes scattered around the casino (they had tables in the front and back and upstairs) and anywhere but upstairs you could just stand around and watch if you could find a space to see. Once the main event was in full swing, the only room being used was the upstairs room, and you had to pay to get in and watch (I have no idea what it cost). When there were still a lot of players in the tournament, there was basically a perimeter around the gaming area and you could stand along the edge and watch. Obviously you couldn't see squat in the centralized tables, and the interesting tables around the edges had quite a crowd. As the field was whittled down, spectators were allowed to get closer to the tables, but obviously the less tables there were, the harder it would be to find a space to watch.

Anyway, I don't know if it would be worth it to come here JUST to watch the WSOP, but if you wanted to plan your vacation around it and spend most of your time enjoying the city, it might be worthwhile.
