Okay Im 18 and Im starting college this fall. But Im not ready for any kind of study abroad but I still want to go to spain for the spring/summer just to experience something new....

Whats some advice. I plan on getting a job there but where? Also what kind of apartments should I check out?

As for money, I wont have tons, but I plan on getting a job and I already have some saved. And the money for college is already taken care of through loans/scholarships that dont have to be paid back for until I am done with college...

Future thanks :)

  1. If you are an American citizen, you may visit Spain for 3 months without a visa but you may not work.  To get a work visa in any European country is very difficult for an American citizen. you need to find an employer first to sponsor you, and that is unlikely for a non-professional, short term job.  All Europeans may work in any European country, so Americans are really at the end of a long line.  See page at site below to reseach work visas and opportunities or lack thereof.

  2. HOW do you plan to get a job in Spain when YOU CAN'T WORK IN SPAIN.  You would need a work visa and for that you would need a sponsor.  Also, an Apartment in any city in Spain will cost at least $1500 U.S.D. and maybe more but you can't get one for just a month or two, usually... they are on 6 to 12 month leases.

You DO speak FLUENT SPANISH... right?  That is also a necessity.
