I'd like to replace the shower in the bath tub. I'd like one with more power. Any brand better than another?

The one I have now doesn't get all the soap out of my hair. Is there an affordable power shower anyone can recommend?

  1. Get a plumber to have a look.

Could be any of a number of problems.

A plumber would have it sorted in less than 1/2 hr if it is a simple fix job.

If not he can advise you of all the options.

  2. Just make sure you look for one with a removable flow restrictor, then remove it.  I use Waterpik.

  3. soapbox..................DERBY

  4. I have the Waterpic showerhead and have not removed the restrictor. It will blow you out of the tub on full pressure. Mine also has multiple selections for the stream of water. About $30.

  5. Your existing head could be clogged, try cleaning it. Soak it in CLR or Lime Away to remove the lime from the inside. Make sure there's no crud in the flow restrictor, too.

If that isn't enough, try a showerhead that makes a bubbling stream. This increases the surface area of the water so it does a better job of rinsing the soap off you. I have a Grohe head like this one: http://www.groheamerica.com/t/25_3859.ht... and it works pretty well.

  6. If you have low to medium pressure in your lines, no shower head will make much difference. You could have a restriction in your old shower head do to pebbles and sand. You may also have a water flow restricter that is blocked.try taking it off and check to see that all the spray holes are clear If this is not the problem have a plumber put a pressure test on the line. You could need a booster pump if the pressure is really low. I did find that the Sunflower type head delivers moore water because of the number of holes in the head
