I'd like to send money to a Catholic church?

Question

I've never done this before so I was hoping some could help me out. I'd like to send some money (check or cash?) to a Catholic church of my choice, I think my first contribution might be going to one in another state, so I'll be sending it through the mail.

My question is, will this be accepted and how should I go about doing it (like what should I include besides the money).

Send it in an envelope with no return address, and they'll be forced to accept it.

Though, in general, I don't think a church is likely to turn money down.

May I ask why you're randomly sending money to a church you're not affiliated with?

I doubt the Church would turn down money.  Send a letter and before you do decide if you want it to be donated to that particular parish or if you would like it to go to the Catholic Charities or the St. Vincent de Paul society.  Tell them in the letter if you have an idea of how you would like the money to be used.  It's never a very wise idea to mail cash, so for the mailed letter, I'd send a check.  If you go in person, it doesn't matter.

Any church will accept money. If you want to, maybe write a letter or something saying why you chose that church and what your reason is for doing that. If you are in need then the church will pray for you.

They've got plenty of money. If you want to do a good deed, give it to charity.

Or are you really donating the money to yourself? Trying to curry favour with God?  Get in good with him?

Just take it too your local Catholic Church, they will put it in their Charity box. Thank you for your kindness and Charity.

They don't need your money. They have most of the worlds money anyway. Send it to a more deserving cause, or give it to someone who really needs it.

Just write a letter in an envelope with the check stating why you gave them money. Maybe ask for your intentions to be remembered at mass, or for the Souls in Purgatory.

Why not send it to St Judes Childrens Hospital? The catholic church already has enough money.

If you know which parish you want to send money to you might be able to find their contact info online, trying doing a search for the parish online to get their phone number.

Call the parish and tell them you'd like to send a donation, and ask them how you go about doing that.

Find the address of the church and tell them that you would like to make a donation for the poor.for the Parish,For the sick etc....

They will give it to the proper place you want it to go to.

Include a note telling them why you are sending the check. ALWAYS send a check through the mail. Don't worry, I can't imagine any Catholic Church turning down money. lol
