Made a fool of myself

Lost all my pride and self esteem

Feel like an idiot

Feel guilty

Blame myself

Feel lost

Feel like I'll never love again cos I am getting older

is this person laughing at my stupidity

Dunno what my question is: maybe its 'have you ever done this? What did you do to get over all these complex and negative feelings?'

I am advised to move on, forget about him, find someone else, get a hobby, think of something else.

None of it works. It just doesn't seen to be as simple as that.

Gimme some pointers but none of the above suggestions cos they don't work!

I am 57 years old.  I have fallen in love many times in my life, and have been married twice.  I've now been divorced for nine years.  After all that, I'm convinced that the experience of falling in love is a sham, a chemical reaction.  I don't trust it anymore.  It's too intense to sustain, and leads to impossible expectations.  I'm not at all bitter.  I still see women, but it's more for companionship now.
