  1. 1) Breathe, but don't hyperventilate.

    2) Your body can't tell the difference between nervousness and excitement. Convince yourself mentally that you are excited rather than nervous.

    3) Prepare as best you can. Practice, practice, practice. And when you can't practice, visualize yourself doing your tryout cheer and dance.

    Good luck!

  2. Hey, just remember to have fun, let loose. High school is suppose to be your most joyous part of life.

As far as cheerleading, I'll give you the same advice as one of my friends. Your trying out because YOU know your good. That's all you need. Just be confident, remember you are the best.

  3. Honestly, you are the only one that can help you. You need to give yourself a little pep talk. Tell yourself that you can do it!! Also practice a lot, get your moves sharp and clean. It helps to just talk to literally everyone!! If your coach sees you making fast friends, then she will take note. Because cheerleaders, CANNOT be shy. It will also be great to already have friends as an incoming freshman. Your newfound friends will help calm you.

    Hope I helped!!

  4. STAY RELAXED and make sure to have a good attitude, smile, and look excited to be there! stay tight, point your toes, and HAVE FUN! good luck!

  5. I will also be a freshman next year, and we already had our cheerleading tryouts. Yeah they are a little scary at first, but remember the judges arnt there to tell you you arnt good enough just there to help you improve. Just think of the judges as your friends. Believe me it will make things a lot easier. And remember to have fun. That is susch an important part of cheerleading. The judges will be able to tell if you are having fun and that is part of your scoring. I cant begin to tell you how important it is the you are loud!!!!! That shows that you are confident that you know your material well. Always make eye contact! That shows that you arnt afraid to cheer in front of large crowds. You will do GREAT! Just believe in yourself!
