Will the airline put me on a later flight? Will it cost extra? Will I be stuck in San Francisco? Help me! I'll also be flying back from JFK to SFO to SNA a few days later.

I'm flying AA :)

Also, if you can answer, do i have to claim my bags in SFO or will they be sent from SNA to JFK awaiting my arrival there?

(If i miss my connection have to stay in San Francisco what will happen to my bags?) Please help me :)

  1. You will be hopelessly left in SFO

  2. If there are other flights out later that day, they will try to put you on them.  Your bags will go by the shortest route possible, more than likely beating you to your destination.  If you get stuck in San Fransisco and your bags are on your flight, you will have to pick them up and take them with you.  If you are delayed because of something mechanical or personnel wise, AA will put you up in a hotel (I had an unexpected stay in San Juan a couple of weeks ago).  You get your bags and take them with you to your hotel.  If it is weather or something the airline couldn't prevent, you can either stay in the airport over night or get a hotel on your own.  For the most part, just talk to the airline reps, their job is to make sure you get all the information you need.

  3. yes the airline will put you on a later flight...it sucks when this happens but you will get to your final destination...no worries

don't worry about your bags either...all you need to do is pick them up at your final destination.
