I'll be going to Nuevo Vallarta soon?

I need to know how much money to take for expenses,, any ideas on where to look ?

bring half what you would spend in san diego.

bring travelers checks, not cash.

Nuevo and Puerto Vallarta are not so expensive.  Certain things are expensive. For example golf greenfees are expensive.  Drinks and food not so much.  There are definetly ATM machines everywhere.  You can enquire at the marina about the water taxi.  I t will take you into town via the bay and get there much quicker then regular taxi.  It is a 20 min drive into town from Nuevo Vallarta.  It really depends what you do.... In Mexico if you go to fancy resturants you will spend the same that you will spend in fancy restaurants in the States.

Eating: Archies Wok (thai), La dolce Vita (Italian), De Santons (international trendy), Cafe des Artists (world class incredible$$$), Las 8 Tostadas **** <awesome mariscos>

Party: De Santos, Obriens, La bodeguita del Medio (best mojito) plus many more.....

After January.... Whale watching tours... Humpbakcs,

Anytime--- Eco tourims--- Vallarta Adventure Co... try the Canopy tour.

Golf. Great GOLF there are 6 or 7 awesome courses.

Sailing, Nuevo Vallarta marina at the Paradise Village

Surfing- San Panchos, Sayulita, Punta Mita,

Scuba- Los Arcos, call Chicos dive shop

Bungie Jump- South of the city in Conchas Chinas... Girls jump topless get a free Jump

Cuban Cigars- No name Boutique

There are allways some big DJ parties... progressive, House, Psytrance....

Its very inexpensive and they have cash machines all around town so you can always get more money when you need it.

We stayed at Occidental... it was nice.  No complaints other than to get into Puerto Vallarta for dinner & nightlife it was a 20 minute cab ride across country.
