I'll be in San Juan, PR for 3 nights. Where should I go as far as sightseeing, food, drinks, fun, etc..?

I heard Bacardy Factory is pretty fun. Any other suggestions?? Are there any happy hour there?

I just returned from PR- and had an amazing time- as well as some interesting adventures- like being kicked out of my apartment I rented at midnight  - it was in a sketchy area - Calle Loiza and St, Jorge.  I suspect the guy I rented from was dealing drugs and needed cash- but I digress-

There are tours that will take you on a Bacardi Tour- $45

and walking tours of Old San Juan- (Viejo San Juan) $30.

if you like nature/historical day trips the old forts are pretty neat... just make sure you go early enough because you have to go up a hill to get there and by the time I got off my cruise ship and hiked up the roads it was closed.. there are tons of little shops and bars though.

Old San Juan and El Yunque for sightseeing and if you have time take a tour of the fajardo bio bay. I personally prefer  Don Q rum to Bacardi, but I suppose the tour is fun.  Try the Ocean Park area for food and beach. Good food at moderate prices. And Ocean Park beach is a pretty cool crowd. if ur going only for 3 nights, than u may want to stay in the san juan metro area. visit old san juan, el condado, the bacardi factory, the nearest beaches and also el yunque(if u have time) countless bars and clubs, casinos and happy hours in san juan and wonderful modern nightlife in an ancient city.

Bacardi tour is good and their drinks are better, the free drinks is worth the free tour.Three days is not very long because there are hundreds of things that you can do here. Since your time is short, you could go on some of the tours that may be given at the hotel where you stay. You can also rent a car, I recommend traveling in groups, and drive east on rt. #2 to the El Yunque rain forest, I recommend the Visitor`s Center, you do have to pay but their program is very eucational and insightful. After that, continue east on rt.#2 to Luquillo (The Taino chief in this area was called Loquillo by the Spaniards because they considered him reckless and his indian name was Luki-Yu (Luqui-Yu to the Spaniards at that time). He was one of the last Taino chiefs that was defeated by the Spaniards. In this area you will also find the picturesque little town of Juncos, it`s very beautiful, and their seafood is fresh and delicious. That`s one thing about Puerto Rico, you can find delicious food everywhere you go at just about any time. In Juncos you can also take a boatride to Monkey island, and Bird island, on local boats and buy fresh seafood. Yes there are monkeys on Monkey is. and birds on Bird is. You could also spend time in Isla Verde, there`s the beach,food, bars, Discoteque, casinos, hotels, a lot of friendly locals (except when driving, then we become deamons, and Ill tempered). Don`t worry, just ignore us when we get like that. There`s also Pinones, across the bridge from Isla Verde to Loiza, and Boca De Cangrejos. Here you will find some of the most delicious fresh food made right in front of you. It depends if you will like Puertorrican cuisine, but I`m sure you will like most of it. I recomend Conch (Carrucho) salad, Alcapurria de Yuca with Jueyes, shrimp or lobster ( It`s a mixture of grated Yuca (a local root) and green bananas, formed into shape and filled with beef, chicken, Jueyes (local crab) shrimp, lobster and various other seafood. The Pinchos (shishkabobs) are very good. There`s dancing here at night but it is open to all public, secure your valuables, and your car,if you rent a car. It`s good to stay safe. The scenery here during the day is beuatiful,and if you get there early in the morning around 9:Am or 10:AM you may catch the low tide and walk unto a sandbar for about a mile out to sea. Sightseeing in Old San Juan is quite good, you can do San Cristobal Or El Morro forts, walk around the ports where the ships dock, eat local food, MacDonalds, Kentucky, Burger King; you can visit art galleries, visit the local Arts Schools near El Morro, buy local artisans wares. Their prices are very good and so are the prices at the jewelry stores. There are several bars, Discoteques, restaurants, live music on Saturday afternoons at Paseo de La Prinsesa, you can also see a lot of people playing Dominoes in the Plazas, it is a favorite pastime for the islanders. I believe they play more dominoes here than baseball, volleyball, and basketball,and they play a lot of baseball,basketball and volleyball here. Oh, there`s also a Gallera in Isla Verde (cockfights) if you`re interested in that. Enjoy your stay and be safe.

My mom went on an excursion to the rain forest there an absolutely loved it. I stayed on the street where senor frogs and the Hard Rock is. Lots of little cute bars along there

Well my friend,

PR have enough things to see and visit but your staying time is short. You spend almost one day in Old San Juan, over there you most see "El Morro Fortress", San Cristobal  Fortress, El Convento Hotel, The San Juan Cathedral, El Paseo La Princesa, Ponce de Leon House (best know as the "Casa Blanca" ), Casa Alcaldia and many others things to see. You can choose one day to visit Arecibo (one hour from SJ) and visit Caverns of the Camuy River Park, in the same road you can visit the Arecibo Radiotelescope (the biggest in the world) and the Arecibo Lighthouse & Historical Park. In another day you can go and visit El Yunque our rainforest and the area around El Yunque. For the Bacardi Factory tour you need to check in advance if when you be here they have tours and at what time. As I know over there they only give you one time to drink from their rum if you want more you need to pay.

You should definetly go to the Bacardi factory. It is quite fun. Also, I recommend the you go down to Viejo  San Juan which is the part of the city where you get the feeling of old world, colonial times. "El Camino de la Princesa", The walk of the Princess, is also very beautiful. Check it out!

there are many stores and restaurants for you there as well
