I'll be in Toronto for a week. Should I take the TTC day pass ($9), weekly pass (25.50) or the GTA pass (47)?

I'll be going around Toronto as well as commute to and fro Richmond Hill and Mississauga. I don't know yet which specific places I'll visit. I just plan to go to a place in a location served by TTC (which I assume is practically everything, right?). It's quite confusing because some areas are not covered in the day or weekly pass (such as the express, will I need to go here?) and areas outside of Toronto. I think Mississauga is covered in the GTA weekly pass. Does that mean I can take any TTC route within Toronto AND Mississauga? What about Richmond Hill? Do I need to pay separately every time I travel to Toronto from Richmond Hill even with the pass? Thank you very much in advance.

The TTC only operates within the City of Toronto. (There are some exceptions, with some TTC routes operating in York Region, but these are operated in connection with York Region Transit [YRT] and require an extra fare.) Mississauga is served by Mississauga Transit, although many of its routes connect to the Islington and Kipling subway stations. Richmond Hill, on the other hand, is served by York Region Transit. To add to the confusion, there are also commuter trains and buses that serve the whole of the GTA and are operated by GO Transit.

If you plan on using buses in Richmond Hill and Mississauga, as well as the TTC, you're better off getting a GTA weekly pass. This will allow you to use all GTA transit systems including the TTC, without having to pay an extra fare. However, if you opt for a TTC weekly pass, you will still need to pay additional fares for your YRT and Mississauga Transit buses.

Note that you cannot use GTA weekly passes on GO Transit buses or trains.

Mississauga/ttc im 90% sure they are different so i would bring extra coins on ya
