Olympic tennis . . . why are round robin matches scheduled after all matches have been played, medals awarded and players will play players they have already defeated.

I cannot think why this is so. Please help if you have any insighht on this question.

  2. There are no round robin matches at the olympics. The only players that play after losing are the 2 losing semi-finalists and that's to determine who gets the bronze medal. Gold goes to the winner of the final, silver to loser of final and bronze to winner of 3rd and 4th place match (the 2 people that lost their semi-final match).

    So, Novak lost to Rafa in semi's and Blake lost to Gonzalez in semi's hence Blake and Novak played each other to determine the bronze medal winner.

    wow, what bloody idiot gave me a thumbs down for this answer? This is not even an opinion. I just stated a fact. It's like saying Sampras won 14 GS's in his career and getting a thumbs down for that. IDIOT!
