Hey, i'm 12 and i want to be a vet when i am older, what do i need to do to prepare myself ??

  1. well what you need to do is go to your local veterarian office or whatever and ask if you can spend a day in there and then see if you like it or not then you can ask him all those questions you have for him


  2. You also want to do good in school.  Be dedicated and like the previous person said, make sure it's want you want to do.  So it's a great idea to intern, so you can get a taste of it.

  3. You definitely need to go and spend a day working at a vet's office.  What I would do... is go to your local vet and see if you could be a kind of "intern" for the day.  This will help you figure out if you really like it enough to pursue it as your profession one day.  

    For instance, when I was 14, I interned at a vet's office and couldn't handle seeing needles and surgeries, so now I'm in college and will go to school afterwards to become a dog trainer.  

    So yeah, the most important thing before you pursue anything else is to make sure it's REALLY what you want to do.  And the best way to do that is to live a day in the shoes of a vet :)  

  4. my dad was a vet he's retired now [he's not even 50 yet and has enough money to not work] you need to know a lot like how to stick your hand up a horses but literally
