I'm 12 should i do this?

i want a good exercise to do and i heard not to lift weight until a certain age. i'm 5'3 abooout 110 pounds and i want to know if it's safe for me to do this. Here's the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8AMC2HssMw&feature=user . please tell me if you think this is a good exercise.

  3. These would be good exercises.  If your really serious about it, here are a few other ideas too.  (I know...this is probably more than you were looking for)

    Get some DVDs/Tapes (ask a parent to order them used from Amazon.com...way cheap!)  - Taebo is a good one.  He has one for kids, but I did the ORIGINAL VHS tapes when I was your age (the kid one just seemed to "kiddish").  Its easy but fast.  And you don't have to do the whole tape.   Or look for dance tapes.  Those are the rage now, and they are fun.   (You could even do them with your friends probably)

    Join a sport - Even if you aren't the #1 player its a good & fun way to stay in shape.   Or join a karate class/dance class.   Doing stuff strictly at home can get boring at your age.

    Do it with friends - Maybe make a pact with a friend to jog every weekend.   (worse case you two can walk around the block and talk...its still exercise.)

  4. At your age just stick to cardio, like running, swimming, biking, skating, shadow boxing, anything that will bring your heart-rate up.
