Question:

I'm 12 yrs. old, 5'4, and I weigh 118. is that too much overweight?

ok, i know i weigh more than I should but I'm not THAT fat. But my thighs are HUGE, and I'm not just saying that. I just wanna know what the average weight is for someone like me.

  1. 5'4": 110 - 130

    general rule, start with 100pounds and 5'0". then add 5 pounds for every inch. examples:

    5'1" = 105

    5'2" = 110

    5'3" = 115

    5'4" = 120

    5'5" = 125

    **and because everyones body is different, you add/ subtract 10 pounds from the appropriate weight for your height. so your 5'4" which is 120 pounds, so your range is 110-130. you're right in the middle so yeah you're perfect :)


  2. That's a normal weight.  You're in the normal section of your weight chart.

    Look at your relatives.  Do they all have thighs that aren't in proportion to the rest of their bodies?  You might be stuck with them.  Everyone on my dad's side of the family has big thighs.  I eventually discovered that a lot of guys like a girl built with a smaller waist and bigger thighs.  Just focus on being healthy and confident.

  5. You're not overweight!  At 5'4" 118 is completely healthy.

  6. For a 12 year old that is probably a little too much. I am 5'4" and have been that tall since I was about 12 or 13.  And I weighed about 105 when I was your age. As long as you are eating healthy foods and getting exercise, your body will maintain a weight that is normal for your own individual bodily needs.  So essentially, worry more about your overall health, and less about your weight specifically.

  8. gosh.. that makes me feel a little bad.. im like 7 years older than you and we are the same height and weight (well im 117).. youre big for your age (height wise) but if youre the same size as me.. youre not fat at all.. i actually wish i could gain about ten pounds.. My friends are always calling me skinny and i HATE it.. but im black (well mixed) and amongst my peers being skinny is awful.. anywho though.. you are a nice size.. Im just a little worried because you are so young.. and sometimes when kids are bigger while young, they grow up to be overweight.. im almost 19 and 117, and youre 12 and 118, i dont know if im the unhealthy one or if you are.. but i know that youre not fat.. dont worry about it too much.. just enjoy being a kid.  

  9. Your not fat at all like the other ppls here said 5'4 -120 pounds is very normal. If you think ur thighs are huge:

    1. You should see other ppls thighs

    2. If you play sports involving a lot of leg movement/ strength then your thigh muscles should be big, making ur thighs look even bigger.

    3. You are probably just a "pear shaped" girl meaning that you store fat mostly in ur thighs instead of your stomach. Even though you may not like being a "pear" and would give anything to be an "apple" (ppl who mostly store fat in their stomach) pears are more healthy. Health experts agree that apple shaped ppl have more liver, kidney, and heart problems bcz they store fat around those organs, the inner most layers of fat settle around these organs and others. This causes pressure and manymany health problems. Lucky for you your a pear the fat is just on ur legs and far away from any organs!

    when i was 12. i was 5 foot nd weighed 123 pounds. nd my thighs where huge to. still are. im a soccer player. thats what you call soccer thighs. if you do any sport. yur gunna get muscle thereee. if yur having problems with clothes. where loose shorts. or black. it makes them look slimmer. yeah. yur gunna see those aneriox looking girls who eat like a pig. its fast matabilism. ( i cant spell ) but be comfortbal with yur body. your beautiful !
