  7. NO WAY!

with your persictent attitude you can compleat anything!

i suggest that you sign up for lessons right away!!!!

you can be any age and compleat a whole ton!

  8. Well not for you, because you don't want to compete and stuff... and you seem to have a nice background. Flexibility is very useful in skating. (:

I started a little more than a year and a half ago... when I was 12 also! Peronsally, I do honestly feel that I started late because I have higher goals that I want to achieve.

I'm working on the axel currently...

    Good luck (:

  9. I started skating for fun at 7, and took Learn to Skate lessons by age 8. I passed all Levels, snowplow sam up until 8. I passed all of Learn to Skate by age 11. I just started taking private lessons when I was 12. You are not too old at all..I know some girls who just started and they are seniors in high school! It's all for learning experience, and if you are passionate and love to skate, then go for it!

  10. NO way hun i started when I was 11 and I'm doing really well iv'e landed my double axel already, there were a whole lot of girls who picked on me when I started skating and always laughed at me when I fell over and made fun of me stole my guards and gloves, and when copetitons came around they would take my skating music and either steal it so i couldn't practice or scratch the CD so It wouldn't work, so I had no friends at skating and I was always sad because they were so nasty to me but I stuck to it because I loved it and now I have passed all those girls because i practiced hard.

so if i could do it so can you. good luck and have fun.

  11. no your not to old. I started Figure Skating at age 14. I never even wanted to become a Figure Skater I thought I was going  to learn how to skate cause I sign up for the learn to skate program which is where you will be starting at. I am in love with it now and hoping to become professional. I have been in two shows and will be going to competition this month. I am in basic 8 now which is the highst level in the basics. After that you go on to Free Skate. I have saw people in about there 30's and 40's taking lessons so trust me you are never to old to start.

  12. It's never too late to start. It might be hard watching all the six year olds doing their axles but just from what you said you seem like the type of person who would apply themselves and work hard. It doesn't matter if you compete or not you can just take the lessons for the knowledge. I used to and it was one of the best things that has ever happened to me. Hope this helps!

  13. Not at all. It may seem like it but it's never to late to start something you think your going to love! Im 13 I started about 3 years ago and I am almost landing my loop jump! As long as you put time and effort into it its never to late. When I first time I started I felt I wouldnt get anywhere but I'm earning more and more and I'm more confident.

P.S. if you start make sure you get a pair of ice skates that support your ancles, and dont get really cheap ones ($40) because 1.they wont last long. 2.you'll have to buy another pair 3. You wont be happy with them... $40 may seem expensive (or not) but its really not worth it.

Good Luck and Try it...It's really Fun! :) <3

  14. it's never too late to start.  You don't have to compete if you don't want to.

  15. Not at all,

Look at Tim Duncan he never even played basketball as a kid, but only in high school college and now in the NBA He started as a swimmer

If he can do it you can do it

  16. It's not too late.  I started when I was 12 too.  You could still compete if you wanted to.  Call your local rink and ask about their group lesson program.  Group lessons are a great way to learn the basics and to quickly progress to beginning jumps and spins.  It's also a good place to meet other skaters just like you and coaches you may want to set up private lessons with in the future.  The group lessons are cheaper than private lessons and are usually held once a week anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour in about 7-8 week sessions.  Good luck and have fun with it! :)
