I'm 13... Do I have diabetes?!?

I'm a thirteen year old girl that's chinese. I live in New York and I have no allergies or diseases but my dad's side of the family has diabetes and my mom's side has cancer. Lately I feel like I'm going to faint a lot. It's like sometimes I can't see well when I'm walking and my head becomes dizzy, then it gets better after a while.. But sometimes I have to lie down for a minute for so.. Do I have a disease or something? If so, what is it?

This does not sound like diabetes, but I think you need to see a doctor so he can find out what is wrong with you  You may even have low blood sugar at times.  Tell your parents and see the doctor soon...

Maybe. Eyes are one symtpon. U fainting means that u have low blood sugar which means not enough iinsulin produce. check ur urine. if its bubbly , then yes. if u urinate alot, then yes.eat less sugary food or it will be too late!

Actually, it sounds like you're often dehydrated. Dehydration causes nausea, dizziness and a light headed feeling. Since it's the summer, you should be drinking lots of water/fuilds. =) Try hydrating more and if it doesn't work, try asking a doctor. =)

Diabetes runs in families.In order to find out if you have Diabetes, you need a glucose test, either fasting or two hours after eating. Your symptoms could be related to low glucose levels rather than Diabetes. At 13 you could also have low blood pressure. It's best for you to see your family doctor.

You have no symptoms of diabetes, but your body is going through a maturation process (goodbye adolescence and hello being a teenager).  Try visiting a Chinese Herb Shop and ask for a tonic that suits your needs. I'm sure that it will help. If your stmptoms persist, have it checked by a doctor.
