if they make fun of you they arent your true friends. find something to make fun of them too like pimple face or mole face, if your that type of a person lol. my friend who has braces too shes turning 13 she got green and red for winter =] christmas theme lol.

Well, I am also 13, and just got braces. I am male, and the colors I got first were red and black. I now have just blue, and have brown hair.

As for what they are like, food gets stuck in them a lot, and if you bite down the first 1-3 days it will hurt, it is a throbbing pain. Just eat jello or pudding for that.

After those days are up you know they are there but they dont hurt. Make sure to brush your teeth and floss though because my sister said when she got hers off she had caivities between her teeth, which means she had to have her gums numbed.

I dont think that your friends will make fun of you, and if they do they are probably just kidding. if they do make fun of you, just say how awesome your teeth are going to be once you get your braces off. I think that the best color for braces is probably a navy blue, but make sure not to get a yellow, orange, or white. Good luck with your braces!

Your friends might pick on you at first, but they should get over it. And just think about how great your smile will be after a year or two :] I have braces and I don't hate them, my mom and my brother used to look at me funny and stuff, but then they just got used to me having braces.

And for color I like lilac or hot pink. Just don't choose black, green, or white :]

Maybe you could get the clear ones, You hardly see them and really have to pay a lot of attention to notice.
