I'm 13 and i want a lip piercing...where should i get it done?

I really want snakebites or something and I dont know where to get it done.

No one in their right mind is going to pierce a 13-year-old. If you find an artist that is willing to do so, then they obviously aren't very reputable. Wait until you're 18 or at least 16, which is the age that kids, even with parental consent, can get a piercing.

Im 12 and I just got my nose percing today ... anyway the BEST place is to get it done in a CLEAN PROFESSINAL tatoo and percing shop...either way It all depends on where you live! oh and dont listin to people who say claires or do it yourself ... thoses are WAY dangdres! good luck! =]

Do it urself. Take a needle steralize it. And wa-lah. I helped my brother do his. Never got infected.

But if u dont wanna' do that, Just go to a tatto/piercing shop. But i think you have to have perental concent.

Most good piercerz will not pierce anyone under 16 no matter what.

It was different when I was 13 though lol.

And don't pierce it yourself it's dodgey. I pierced mine myself twice and I was lucky enough to have nothing bad happen to it.

why would you destroy your face and look like an idiot. Good luck in an interview at a job unless you plan on working at Hot-Topic at the mall. Leave your face alone and the face is very important if you deal with customers.

That's why you wait till you are 18 because at your age you can't think rationally on your own. Tell your parents what you want done and see what they think?

ehh.. i would hold off on any piercings at that age..

i mean.. im not one to really judge..

but why spend the money if you may end up changing your mind in the coming years.. which will probably happen..

save some things for when you get older..

the second i turned 18 i got a tattoo

and a week later i got another

i have my lip pierced too..

i just dont think it would be a good idea..for right now..

it's not a bad choice.. getting your lip done.. though it does hurt a little.. followed by a throbbing pain.. be careful what you do after because any hit to the face will leave your sh*t swollen..

try any piercing place.. you'll probably need a parent with you.. im almost positive..

Alright… to whoever was freaking out down their w/ the “good luck getting a job” crap…. Three of my friends have facial piercing (one of them have caninebites) and none of them have had trouble getting jobs ANYWHERE. And they’ve never worked at hot topic either. The thing is ppl r becoming more accepting of piercing…although slowly. The thing is you shouldn’t have really huge jewelry hanging off your face, just little rings or studs if your thinking of snakebites. But I think even if you have parent consent you couldn’t get them yet cuz ur 13  (if u live in the US), unless you know someone, but w/e. but it might be a little hard to convince your parents to get them, again b/c of your age. But just look around your city and check out a few tattoo/piercing shops. Ask them what they use to pierce, if they wear gloves, how they sterilize, all that good stuff. If their pros they wont mind the questions. And I think you should do a little research BEFORE you ask so you have some info to show your parents so they know you're really sincere about it (trust me it helps), and be sure to explain everything in detail and don't use words that you think would be a little put-offish.

P.S. its true that you could get AIDS from getting a piercing BUT thir have only ever been documented case of ppl getting hepatitis B&C from piercings & tattoos.&& i've had my lip pierced and re-pierced @ least 5 times now and i've never had any holes or scars at all. its all in how you take care of it.

DO NOT DO IT YOURSELF!! you need to go to a good local tattoo/piercing shop check it out and take the person who does the piercing. if you feel comfortable and the shop looks clean and everything get it done there. you could also  just call some local places and talk to the piercer to get some more info on the piercing you want.

any reputable tattoo shop that does piercings but im not sure that youre old enough. where i live you have to be 15 and still have a parent with you until youre 18.

Well, definately get it done professionally. Lip piercings arn't really something you want a friend or yourself to do.

Look on the internet for local piercing shops in your area. Is there a joint tattoo/piercing shop? Is there a hot topic that does piercings? I would recomend you reasearch and choose the place that seems the most professional.

A lot of people who asnwer this are probably going to say "blah blah blah...you're 13 and shouldn't get it done...blah blah" but hey, piercings arn't noticable once you take them out. When I was 14 I had my eyebrow pierced and I took it out and the damage was gone. lol

P.S. You're going to need a parent. No piercing shop will risk a law suit by peircing a 13 year old without a gaurdians permission. And it's going to cost anywhere from 35-50 bucks. Plus after care expenses. (which you have to buy- you don't want an infection!)

PLEASE DONT DO IT!!! I know its your choice and im sure you've though a lot about it, but once your older your gonna regret it cuz you'll think it looks cheap. My aunt got a tattoo when she was a teenager and now she's older and more mature and she is soooo upset that she made that choice. It just looks cheap and tacky, theres nothing classy about it.

i would say to not get it done at all because it just will make you look stupid. people wouldn't take you seriously at all if you got one. plus if it gets infected it would suck a lot. and then there's that slight chance of getting aids or somthing if the person who does it does it wrong.

well I think you need to consider that when that goes out of style or when you are just sick of it...that you will have a big hole below your lipline.  Now you may think that it's no big deal now but let me tell you sister that when you are 30 and you are trying to put makeup on and all your foundation collects in that hole it's gross, not to mention dirt gets all clogged in it and it looks like a big black head pimple!  My advice is wait 1 year and if you still want it then go get it, but i suggest holes you can hide.  :)
