  1. Sure! I do ballet and i really enjoy it. It gives you strength in your core adn good balance. At first you may find it a bit boring, just the first few classes but as you get used to it, it can really be quite enjoyable. Make sure though that you want to go through with this, because as you move up levels you'll have to put alot more commitment. But it can be a very rewarding expirence. Weight doesn't matter at all. I hope you enjoy it if you do go to classes. And remember as long as you feel comfortable with it, then jump right in!

  2. no.  your just fine.

im 13, and weigh 117 pounds and im a dancer.

    ballet is a great expierence.

its nevr too late to start.

    good luck!

    :)

  3. weight doesn't matter, even is you take a pa de du class your a good and healthy weight. Do what you love and work hard in class, but you still need to be passionate about it and strive to be the best you can...and defiantly listen to your teachers. Ballet is REALLY hard, but if you love it, then do it and have fun. =) btw I'm 13 years old, 5'5" and 115lbs. My class has girls of all shapes and sizes and that's never mattered.

  4. Weight is not an issue.  How fit you are, lithe graceful and the ability to perform the steps is more important.  Most ballerina's begin their career at the age of 5.

There is no time like the present is there?

    Practice practice practice.

I was on pointe for several years.

In that time I saw a lot of girls start, and never continue.

No matter how much practice they did, they still not have the graceful quality that marks a prima.

Best thing for you to do is not worry about your weight.  If you want to be a ballerina...then go take classes and go from there.  But I must tell you, it is practice, lots and lots of practice and warm ups and sore muscles.  You really have to love the art to do well.  And it is to some of us, an art form.

  5. wow. Im 11 and 5'4" and weigh 125lbs....... But my doctor said that's all muscle! anyway, it doesnt matter about ur weight, but ur abilities. im an irish dancer and am with the older girls because of my winnings, and there are some really big ones, but they are good. if you set your mind to something and belive in urself, u can do it.

  6. No you're fine. Most girls start ballet at 11, but 13 isn't too bad, so have fun and go for it.

  7. Hiya you answered me question "how many cals should 1 13 year old boy have" you got msn??

  8. Ballet, despite what you may have heard, is not based on weight. Of course you can become a ballerina, you just need the training, dedication, and love for the sport. Also, 106lbs for your age and height is perfectly average :-D

  9. lmao ddont worriieeeeeee if seen some

    people  be ballaraina's

  10. i think you're ok

go ahead and try for it

    but it's rigorous

  11. honestly i don't think weight matters.  What matters most is how much skills you have and how flexible you are.  Most importantly is if you know how to count the rhythm. So I'd say go for it

  12. omg well i am almost kinda like you i am 14 5'8 104 lbs and i have been in ballet since i was 3 soooooooo id say go for it...break a leg!

  13. Like the people above me said, you need passion. In my opinion that's all that matters is that you have a passion that will stay with you through the thick and thin of dancing, which does get hard. So prepare yourself (: But never give up, because it is a wonderful art form and sport.

I would HIGHLY suggest that you get into a class as soon as possible. You say you love ballet but have never taken a class. I ask why? If you love it go for it. And I know there may be many many many road blocks such as your parents not supporting your passion for dance, financial unabilities, or maybe something else. Whatever it is, if you really love ballet you will find a way around it. Personally at first, my mother did not take dance seriously and I was limited to a class or two a week. Then one day she saw me practicing and I think she finally realized what I loved about it and allowed me to try and take more classes. Sometimes you may need to talk to your parents. Also, in my situation money was a problem. My mom being a single parent, was not financially stable enough to pay for more than two or three classes a week. I was able to get a job and save money doing whatever I could (yardwork for neighbors, babysitting cousins, job at the supermarket, etc.) to get money for tuition. Although my studio did not let me, some will let you work for a reduced rate. Whatever it took I'd do it for my passion.

Anyway, my point is that if ballet is your passion, you can become a very successful ballerina regardless your weight. Stay focused, try to get into classes, and most of all enjoy dancing.

Best wishes for becoming a ballerina (:

  14. i think ur just fine the way u r and since it's dancing/balerina type thing u should definitly go for it as long as u feel comfortable accepting who u r and wat is best for u!!! :-)
