I'm 13 and want to work in the corner shop,whats the law?

I'm 13 years old and want to work in the corner shop but i don't want to ask if i get turned away there is a piece of paper in my school saying 13 years old can work but only under 25hours a week but didn't read the rest of it so I'm not sure what jobs i can do and that,any help would be appreciated

btw i live in the north of england just if there is any different rules for different places

You will likely have to obtain a workers permit from the courthouse because you are so young.
