I'm 13 is it too late for me to learn ballet?

I'm 13 nearly 14 and I love ballet so much. I was just wondering is it too late for me to learn ballet? I wanted to learn ballet ever since I was little but never really had the chance. I know you have to be really young to learn but do I have a chance?

you don't need to be young, i started when i was about 16 and i am a professional dance teacher now, i love it and as long as you stick at it you can do anything. the only worry i have is that at 13/14 you have a lot on and may find it too much, however you can always come back to it. good luck

It's not ever too late to start taking ballet classes. It will take work and dedication, but it is possible.

Its never too late to learn anything, I'm 14 and just learnt how to ride a bike, lol it was embarrassing but god it was an amazing feeling when i first got it right

no way it is not to late. have you ever heard of Darcy Busstle. she is one of the best ballet dancers in the world. she started ballet at the age of 13!! it just goes to show that if you really work for something and you believe in something then you can make it. you should be able to start at grade 3 or 4 and you may ber able to do more than one grade at once so you can catch up with the others. it is not to late and if you want to start ballet go for it.

Of course you have a chance!  I've taken ballet since I was 3 (that means 12 years, now) and I absolutely love it.  That, of course, means I want everyone else to love it also.  Find a class for older beginners near you, and sign up!  Don't expect too much at first - ballet is difficult, and it is easy to get hurt, so do not get impatient with the basics.  Take your time, work at it, and eventually you'll get it!

no way when i was 9 i thought it was to late for me to play the piano and theory but when i went to my theory exam there was a 68 yr old taking a grade 1 exam so doing ballet and 13 is 120% OK!!!

Your never too late to learn. YOu might wanna take private lessons thought cuz if you were in a group of young children learning the same drills as you that would be embarrassing i think.

No, it's not too late. You do have an advantage if you start young but if you are naturally talented, you'll pick up fast. You'll never know until you try so go for it. You are still young, so there is a chance. Even if you don't make it to professional level, it will still be worth it. The satisfaction of doing something you are passionate about is priceless.

Of course not!  If dance is a passion of yours and you would like to learn, you are still young and flexible so it should be easy for you.  Some of the worlds best dancers get a later start.  You never know, you could knock them all dead!

My friend's mom didn't start ballet until she was 29!  She's in her 60's now and still going strong.  Now THAT is dedication!

for me it's never too late:)

i know this woman who's like almost 60 and just started in 58,and she's doing well:)) she's dancing pretty well for someone her age.

i bet you'll do great,just have a lot of determination and practice alot and you'll be fine! good luck,and i hope you do it cause i love doing it!:)

It depends, where ever your going to be taking the lessons ask. I have been taking them since i was really little but i quit at 6.
