  1. Get a 4' deep pool, then try swimming yourself. It's not deep so you can't drown and if you need to you can stop on your knees. Then have floating toys incase you need help. Try going on the floating toy first on your stomach then paddle. Once you get that down try swimming without the floating device. Ask one of your parents to help you too. Try different swimming techniques (breast stroke, doggy paddle, back paddle) etc.

  2. I was also 13 when I took lessons but I was with the beginners so I didn't learn much.  I should have signed up for intermediate since Ive been in pools and swimming with a floatie.  At 15 I learned to swim in deep end and I'm a pretty good swimmer now.  I have gotten in the pacific ocean to snorkel in Hawaii.  It took so long to learn to swim in the deep end because my aunt has a pool that is 9 feet deep but I rearly use it because we don't really go or she doesn't really like people to use it.  I started to jump and water thread bearly these past 3 years because I am using it more.  If you go to a pool often you'll be a strong swimmer fast.  I learned slowly because I rearly got in the pool.

  3. my sister is 13 and she still cant swim. she couldnt even dogpaddle until recently. i learned how to swim by my dad. you could ask someone you know or if you want lessons there are lots of swim lessons and you could look in the yellow book or go to your local community center. they usually have lessons there.

  4. dont worry, if your thinking about high school and you think people are gonna make fun of you casue you cant swim then dont worry, they teach you casue theres a gazillion othr kids, the main reason i say the high school senario is becasue im going to high school too next year :D, anyways im pretty sure your sort of worried people who can swim will make fun of you well let me tell you something, no one will laugh at you and i know this becasue i can swim really well(swim with olympians in the pst) and i never laugh atr anyone who cant swim.. BUT

if your really concerned and still want to learn swimming and you have accecs to a swimming pool heres some personal training advice...

first start by practinsiing your breathing... bob your head in the water while holding your breath and blow out of your mouth while in water when do for 2 seconds and pop head out. repeat 5 times. to practise your kick you can do this in or out of the pool. in the pool wha you want to do for practise is grab a flutter board hold it on the top and just kick, if you begin to move then guess what? your swimming. do this for a few days until you get really confortable. once you can do the kick while holding the board easyly try without the board. put your hand out in front of you over laping and try. once your really confortable with that try the backstroke to start practising your hands.to do the backstroke make sure your facing the ceiling when you swim. while kicking strat to rotate your hand like a tredmil( i know not a good example) keep rolling your shoulders so your arms are close to you when they rotate. after this your pretty much ready to start doing other strokes with eezz....REMEMMBMER PLEASE HAVE SOMEONE WATCHING OVER YOU WEATHER YOUR DOING SIMPLE BREATHING OR DOING ANY OTHER STROKE....AGAIN I SAY PLEASE HAVE SOMEONE OVER THE AGE OF 18 LIKE A PARENT WATCHING OVER YOU BECASUE SWIMMING CAN BE DANGEROUS IF NOT PROPERLY DONE.

  5. Enquire at any swim school, most have adults classes ,( I work at a swim school in Australia and we would put a beginner 13 yo with adults, not other 13 years olds as they probably have a higher swimming level,)  just check that they have beginners, intermaediate or advanced, there are lots of teenagers and aduts in your situation, I was 11 and could not swim, I was actually put with 7 and 6 six year old (this was 30 years ago!!), but within a year I was swimming laps with kids my own age, you will find that you will catch on really quickly, maybe try a pool not near your school, but try not to worry, if you do learn to swim it will be skill you can use for life

  6. well idk about that but when i was little my dad always told me do it like a dog u kno like paddle like a dog and idk i guess i kinda learned... wel hope i helpd..
