  1. nope of coarse not it best to try new things! and plus volleyball is an awesome sport!

  2. I would say it's too late to play competitive. I'm in 8th grade and have been playing for 5 years! Chances are you won't make any of the big teams but you could still just play as a hobby!

  3. Nope!

I started playing my 7th grade year..

But its really easy to learn..

Iv seen alot of great players start late..

  4. it's never too late to start learning how to play! it gets really competitive in high school, but you can still learn how. I was fortunate to learn in 6th grade but a bunch of my friends just learned this year..( we're in 8th grade too). the thing is is that volleyball season is over unless your doing a j-o league. if its at school i would say join a j-o team to learn how to play first because they teach you a lot more than at school!

  5. ummm no! its never too late.

just do your best and really try to get better and do anything you can to improve..work your hardest...you will do fine :)

  6. Nope its never too late! My friend just started this year (eighth grade) and she ended up playing for the a team! I hope that you enjoy it!

  7. your never to old to start a sport!!!!! :-]

  8. No way, Its a lost of hard work but if you want to try go do rec leagues they help you with your basics I did alot of camps, but I'm in *th grade to and there are peopl e who have never played before and are good

  9. This question caught my eye because just the other day I heard a story from a coach about how she started very late, like you (if you are going to) and she couldn't make her serve for a year.. that means her freshman year! She ended up playing division one volleyball. This goes to show that you should never be afraid of taking opportunities! Volleyball is a wonderful sport, I am a freshman now going onto my 4th year of club.. i can't get enough of it! Give it a shot!!

  10. it depends if u are a fast learner or a slow learner to play volleyball i dont know if u can still do it bc i started vollyeball in 3rd grade so i have doing it for a long time !

  11. Never to late.

It requires strength. So start doing push-ups, crunches and squats. It will only make you better. Go to youtube and type in "instructional volleyball". Maybe that will help.

  12. It's definitely not too late. I started playing volleyball in the 8th grade and the next year I made JV captain and started playing competitively with my club team.  From there I only got better, so who knows you may find out that your really good at it. One girl at my school started playing volleyball in the 7th grade and then in 8th grade after only one year of playing she made the varsity team, even ended up in the starting line up.

  13. No, I was in the 8th grade when I started. I had never even looked at a volleyball before. I was the captain of the A team. Now as a freshman I am co captain of the varsity team. Just make sure you practice your heart out. Don't mess around at practices. Constantly watch what the coach is showing you, if you have questions, ask for help. They will see your effort, and you will get it right. Study the rotations. Just overall, keep your heart into it. Eat, sleep, breathe, volleyball for like 2 weeks, and you will be good. Good Luck!!!

  14. I never played until I was out of college, and living alone in the 'big city'.

I joined a clinic to learn the game, and met literally hundreds of people who shared a similar interest. Twenty-five years later, several are still some of my closest friends.

Now, at fifty, and with kids of my own, I'm still playing, (ok, a little slower, but still...). I even coach my daughter's jr. high team, so I can teach kids your age how to play the game.

Volleyball is a true "life sport". You can play the game as long as you're able to tie up your laces. A friend of mine is in his seventies, and he's still out there bumping and digging!

So, get going. And remember: it's not about how good you are at the game, it's about the fun you have while playing it.

  15. NO SURE THE SEASON IS OVER FOR THIS YEAR BUT YOU CAN STILL BE ON THE HIGH SCHOOL TEAM PRACTICE LOTTS... AND YOU'LL BE READY FOR NEXT YEAR...

  16. no its not

im in 8th grade and i tried for the skool and made it past the first cut but didnt make the team!=[

but i asked my brothers g/f and she came over and taought me and now im really good at it and i barely play

good luck and never give up

  17. no its never too late to try something new beleive in urself and go after ur dreams! lol

  18. I don't think you are ever to old, i started in 6th grade and i am in 8th grade to! Remember practice makes perfect! Everyday after school for about 30 minutes to an hour go play volleyball            outside! If you have friends who play ask them for help! I have a friend who practices with me and she has made me a whole lot better!  It's an amazing sport!! I hope I helped!! Have fun!!

  19. NO!!! It's not late at all. I started my freshman year of high school and I did very well. As long as you dedicate youself to becoming a good player, you can rock out!

  20. yeah, i started when i was in 5th grad, but i guess you could give it a shot.

  21. im close to ur age too- 15 and i started playin gin the 7 th grade.  never too late to start. vball is a great sport.  i would recommend playing club volleyball since the school season are over.  i know everyone is better than you and that's how it was for me... but i made varsity this year as a freshman. all it takes is determination and the will to work as hard as you can- taking every opportunity you can get to touch a volleyball and practice. (this means getting a vball and peppering with a friend or even your mom) trust me- play vball!

  22. It is never to late.  Depending on where you live, it might be tougher to make your school teams, but there are always clubs to start at.  I live in an area where I would say most people don't start until 7th and 8th grade.  Good Luck, It is deffinetly worth playing.

  23. your never too late to learn.

If i were you i would join a indoor club.

    it will help alot.

    =D

i just started playing & im already pretty good.

If i can do it so can you.

    good luck =]

  24. it absolutely isn't too late!

I had my best friend play with me this year, and we are in 8th grdae, and she loved it, and is a pretty good player for her first year! She was acually one of the better players on the team and was a starter sometimes!

It just takes some practice and confidence!

and the most important thing is that you have fun!

    :]

  25. you're NEVER to old to learn volleyball!!! it's really easy to pick up

learn the 6 positions and your off

  26. no its not to late becuase all that ou hav eto do is practice really hard. like m friend this year just joined volleyball and she is in 8 th grade and she thought she was really bad but it turned it that she was realloy good

  27. It's never too late to start learning how to play. I began volleyball when i was in 7th grade.

  28. im 14 and in 8th grade and i started volleyball when i was 11 but its defintley not too late to start its better to start now than even later

its an amazingly fun sport and a really good way to mak friends even if you arent too good at first dont give up you will get better if you work hard

p.s. if you are really tall volleyball is definately the perfect sprot for you

  29. def not vbal is mad ez to pik up

  30. it's not too late! I didn't start until sophomore year in high school but I love it like no tomorrow! I started off trying out because it looked good on my transcript and I needed a pe credit but by the end of that season, I ended up doing club.  It's great!
