I'm 14 and worried about acne? (help!)?

Around age 12 I started getting a couple zits, nothing major, just a few here and there. At 13, it got a little worse and I started to use Proactiv, it worked great for about a year and now my breakouts just won't heal up anymore, and I'm afraid my acne will keep getting worse and I'll be really ugly. What can I do to help prevent my acne from getting worse and how do I stop worrying?

  1. Proactiv is only good for really really oily/acne prone skin.

Try making a cleanser of baking soda and water - it works as both a cleanser and exfoliater.

Or try: oatmeal & water, milk, honey (very good for skin), or tea tree oil.

You can also try putting hydrogen peroxide on the acne (just on the acne, not the skin around it).

Also, do not pick at pimples or your skin will scar. Try not to squeeze pimples (but if you do, immediately apply antiseptic cream/peroxide/tea tree oil and leave it alone until it heals)

    Hope this helps :)

  2. eat healthy

    drink lots of water

dont touch or pick at face

personally, I use Dial soap and warm water. The dermatologist reccomended it for my acne, said it was the best thing to use.

I also use rubbing alcohol ONLY on top of my zit. It dries it up much faster (if you apply it to the entire face, your face will dry up)

  3. i have the same problem =(, just the other day i had a cut on my leg and put some neosporine on it... i thought if neosporine heals, tries to prevent scaring, and kills bacteria on my cut, why not put it on my acne. so the next morning when i woke up i looked in the mirror and omfg my face looked really bad. everything was all red and irritated and big and everywhere ughhh. it was just a nightmare. i remembered my thought about the neosporine and decided to try it.i washed my face with my normal routine, and applied the neosporine to the red pimples( i read not to use too much, because it is bad for you, and you can build up a resistance) and omg i noticed the difference in like a half hour!!! and at the end of the day my face looked like 80% better. the next day (today) it looked so good that i didn't even have to do it again!!! i am really happy that it worked and you really should try it!!!! i used the regular neosporine, not the pain relief stuff. good luck!

  4. If there is anyway that you can get in to see a dermatologist, DO IT!  I've struggled with acne my whole life, and the only time it actually got better was when I went to a dermatologist.  I had Clearlight treatments, laser-resurfacing (for scars), and microdermabrasion.  The earlier you treat your acne, the less likely you are to have scarring like I had.  A doctor can suggest treatments or products that will clear-up your particular type of acne.  All the over-the-counter and internet acne solutions are hit or miss.  Some of them help temporarily while others can actually make your skin worse.  Your best bet is to see a professional!  -Hope that helps!

  5. I'm 16 and have found out that using vegetable oil in relatively small amounts as face-rub works extremely well.

  6. I had almost the same problem, except Proactiv on helped around my chin. THEN i started to use clearsil. I broke out at first, then after about a month it started to work! I had nearly clear skin, until i went to nova scotia for a week, and the water made me break out :( .

    Luckily, its getting better lol!

Clearsil worked the best for me (It's white cream that comes in a little tube, its really easy!)

  7. Take this from a girl with a not so great history with acne (until it all changed!)

I can not tell you enough not to just use the store products at drug stores and such! I tried proactive and it didn't do squat for me! My face did a complete 180 when I made my first trip to a dermatologist. not matter how severe or little your acne is a dermatologist can tell you exactly what kind you have (there is more than one type!) Proactive only treats a certain type of acne and it is very possible that, the year it worked for you, your acne was a early stage or type than it is now. I definitely recommend going to a professional, I cant begin to express hoe much it not only helped my skin BUT also helped my confidence!! They can tell you so make secrets and tips to great & almost flawless (no such thing as flawless) skin!!!

my acne attack started at 14, I am now 19 and I have had it under control for about 3-4 years!!!! and I still keep up with it!!!!

SO, before it gets worse you should probably head to a dermatologist for a quick evaluation! a few bumps can turn into a lot!!

    hope this helps you!

  8. have your parents schedule an appointment with a dermatologist.  knowing the cause of the acne makes it easier to treat.

  9. -you may need to buy is a lemon if you dont already have some in the fridge,

what you want to do is get some lemon and squeez that

sucker into a tiny bit of honey, and mix that all together, put that

into the area where you want treated and wait 5-10 mins and than wash off,
