  1. You need a longboard. A big board is better. Don't try to learn on a short-board. For a board that cheap try COSTCO. they sell 8 foot softtops for $100. That is a really good deal.

  2. Dude,

If you're starting out, use a longboard. The height of the board depends on your height. The thickness should match your weight and your tolerance. If you aren't comfortable change the thickness.

Hope I helped...Sorry I love my boards, and I'm not ready to sell them! However, I hope you find a surfboard.

  3. Go with a soft TOP. Not a soft board. I have a soft top called the wave stormer. I got it at Costco but it is a good board to learn on. I think it was about $100

  4. ur not gonna get a good board for that price, except at a garagesale.

    i'd say shortbord, 6'6" to 7'2"

thickness depends on your weight, but for

14, id say about 1.25 inches for a shortbord

i'm 13 and i got around one inch thick

  5. try a fish it is a longboard in a short board size. it has thick rails, its wide. so it is great for paddling and popups.

and once you start to get good, it is GREAT for learning how to turn because it is SOO loose.

it also teaches you good smooth turns

I used to be OK at surfing. then i bought a fish and it was great. I used it for about 1 to 2 years and know im 10 times better than before

  6. 1.  We don't need your age, we need your height.

    2. your not going to find a good quality board for less than $200

  7. Duude if ur a begginer like me dont pay for a board rent or go to a surf school were they are gonna give you a long board, were ur gonna learn how to stand up and stuff like that... Buy a surf board after you know the basics.( I would say 2-6 weeks)

    I hope that helped
