I'm going to China this summer and it is my first time travelling alone. I am worried about going through customs and also about keeping travel documents safe. And how can I keep from being bored? Any suggestions on what to bring onto the plane?

  1. Bring a portible dvd player. ipod. pillow. magazines. paper and pencil. I allways get max ear plugs to block out the noise && that helps me.

I allways bring a bag with me that has little bags inside of it. you could have a little bag just for your tickets and info.

since you will be an unacompanied minor they will guide you most of the way and most likely wont leave you alone..

    hope that helped have fun!!

  2. for your travel documents, i always have a carry-on bag that fits right below the seat in front of me.  once i board the plane, i lock it knowing no one will be able to get to it.  when you go to the bathroom, take it w/you.

usually, w/long flights, they have in-flight entertainment w/a screen in front of your seat.  you can bring an mp3 player, hand held video game, etc but you can't use these when the plane is taking off, landing and moving on the ground.  bring magazines, a book also just incase that airline forbids electronic devices.

  3. bring books magzines .. u cant use phones on a plane unless t hase air plane mode .. and ummm laptop and lets see a pilliow

  4. OK this is simple if your flight is direct then its really easy the airline personnel will get you through to your gate and will hold on to any travel documents that you have. once you get onto the plane and land in china you will stay on the plane until everyone is off and another gate agent will get you and get you through customs its that easy.

As for what to bring on the plane bring some books or magazines to read. If you have an ipod bring it. However if you are in first class there is no need to bring anything because you will get free movies and other good stuff

  5. iPOd/MP3;BOOK;CEllPHONE && A PillOW!!!!!!!

  6. stuff to keep you occupied, ur carry on case, sanitizer, pens, if ur chinese and are really good at chinese, fill out the chinese side of the customs form, or just the english. practice at home on a sample one and bring that sheet with you to copy down your answeres!!!! and dont panic and dont get lost

  7. Hi,

First of all, I want to tell you how brave you are on flying by yourself at 14... STANDING OVATION!!

Well, I'm a travel agent and most likely you will be with an airline employee most of the times, somebody will have to go with you through security and stuff. At the time of going through customs you will have to go escorted with an airline employee so you cannot be left alone at all.

Said that, you don't have to worry about the long flight (after 6 hours there's no difference) most likely you will have time to sleep and watch TV.

Now days all airlines that fly transpacific will have awesome on-flight entertainment. Cathay Pacific has more than 20 channels, they have interactive video games (you can play with people at the airplane) on your personal screen.

they have "learn a language" lessons, etc

United Airlines also flies to China and they also have tons of movies, entertainment, and video games you can watch the airline route and stuff.

I flew once with China Air and it was the bomb, they have those Bose ear pieces.. the bomb!!

like i said, after 4 or 5 hours doesn't matter how long the flight anymore, you will be fed. Usually food is pretty good.

    You will be OK..

good luck and hope you have a great experience out of this

  8. Bring a Video game, Magazines, books, it will be a very boring trip but you will get to meet many people on the plane so think of some things you might talk about

  9. How exciting!  (and a bit frightening, eh?)

To keep yourself entertained, bring along books, an MP3 player, crossword puzzles a journal to write in (this is a good idea even on a short trip, so you can jot down the cool things you see and do) and bottled water. (which you will probably have to buy after you pass through security at the airport.  Hand held video games (if you play them) and some headphones (you can watch movies on the plane).

You can get dehydrated quickly in an airplane (hence the water), so bring along some hand lotion and lip balm.  You'll want to get up often and walk around - 14 hours is too long to sit in one place, and you don't want to risk developing a blood clot from not moving around.  (the risk is low, but it's still a risk.)  It might seem wierd to walk around on a plane, but everyone does it on long flights.

    Have fun!

  10. maybe a mp3,books,phone

  11. The most important would be bring a cell phone in case you get mixed up, important phone number so you can contact right away, get some extra food with you if allowed b/c some airlines now do not allow to bring food, that is if you do not like airplane food. I don't. But you do fine! Don't be scared, as long as you know where you're going and how to get there, you'll make it. Have a good trip and good luck!
