I'm 15 and I already wear contacts. Will I become blind when I get older?

It's not like my eye sight is that bad without contacts. I have 20/100 vision. I'm near-sighted, so it doesn't really affect me in my daily life except I can't read street signs which is a problem. If I go blind when I get old I think I'll go crazy. Will I become blind?

  1. Many people need vision correction long before your age, and they don't go blind! Don't worry, 20/100 isn't that bad and unless it is deteriorating quickly now, you have no reason to believe that it will in the future. It could even get better! (Not likely, but I've heard of that happening with people who wear contacts).

  2. i really don't think so because that may be a myth.

  3. It's okay to wear contacts at your age ( either kids can wear contact lens)

But I have no idea if you will be blind when you get older.

  4. There is no reason for you to go blind unless you develop an eye disease that isn't treatable.

Your vision won't change to the point that you go blind...don't worry about that.

  5. Dude, I'm 16 and my eyes are bad too. Don't expect them to stop progressing until you're around 18-20, during then, will slow down.

Until then, reduce the time you spend on the computer, read and take regular breaks.

  6. Like 75% of the population needs eye correction, and msot start before 15.  Why would you go blind?  I do not understand at all...
